Why I’m Just A Girl

Posted by: User ImagePenny (Who am I?) In: Imagine

When people ask me about my plans I’m allowed to say ‘I have no idea’.
I still argue with my brother a lot.
I still get mad at my parents for taking his side.
When I tell people I just finished my degree they say ‘you look too young’.
I love the Spice Girls because they were my favourite [...] Read more »

Life Decisions

Posted by: User ImagePenny (Who am I?) In: A Day In The Life| Paperback Writer

The last few days have forced me to constantly think, think… and think about what I am doing with my life. Who knew I would land in the real world with such a thud after my graduation last Thursday?
Digression…
Graduation was great. I was scared, I was nervous about how I would act, whether I would [...] Read more »

I arrived safely back from my holiday in Cyprus today, and it has been a crazy day in many ways. My head has been spinning trying to think of everything I am supposed to think of.
Money - After finishing university the importance of money, or lack thereof, really starts to hit you. In fact whilst [...] Read more »

One of those moments

Posted by: User ImagePenny (Who am I?) In: A Day In The Life| The Word Is Love

The day finally came - the one that I had been dreading. It is one of those moments of my life that I will never forget.
It was one of the saddest moments, but for happy reasons. An amazing three years have passed and I am sad to be leaving. As I drove away in the [...] Read more »

Degrees of Satisfaction

Posted by: User ImagePenny (Who am I?) In: A Day In The Life

Yesterday I received my degree results. Like practically everyone else I know, I got an Upper Second Class degree with honours.
It feels pretty good and pretty weird at the same time now that I finally have my degree.
Where do I go now? One thing I do know is that the great majority of students will [...] Read more »

I believe that everybody needs time on their own to discover who they are. Doing things for yourself allows you to see what you can do, as well as what you want to do.
Relationships
When I first started at university I was single, and remained single for a year and a half. The main reason for [...] Read more »

Clean up after yourself!

Posted by: User ImagePenny (Who am I?) In: Imagine

Everyone says it, but you never really know until you experience it. Your parents used to nag you, but you didn’t see what the big deal was. But now you know they were right! That is, when they say: clean up after yourself!

If you’re cooking at you spill something: wipe it up.
If you can’t be [...] Read more »

My man vs. my degree

Posted by: User ImagePenny (Who am I?) In: Imagine| The Word Is Love

I came to university (mainly) for one thing: a degree. I have left university with so much more.
In a recent conversation with a friend, and with degree results looming, they mentioned that even if I didn’t have a degree I already had so much. I met a wonderful man back in October 2006 and we [...] Read more »

I want to change the world

Posted by: User ImagePenny (Who am I?) In: Imagine

One thing I have realised in the last three years at university: I want to change the world.
This doesn’t mean world peace, or ending hunger, or becoming prime minister etc. I used to think that these were the only ways in which I could change the world, but I suppose as I have grown as [...] Read more »
